Friday night, The Lodge hosted a wine dinner for thirty guests. This was the first wine dinner we have offered in nearly a year and it was a night our guests are sure to remember. Those in attendance enjoyed a five course meal including Mussels, Cornish Hens, Mushroom Risotto Croquettes, Lemon Marinated Lamb and Point Reyes Bleu Cheese with Apricot Ginger Chutney. Executive Chef Lane Rosenberry perfectly complemented each course on his menu with a specific wine. The five Zaca Mesa wines offered were: Viognier, Roussane, Z Cuvee, Syrah and Late Harvest Viognier. Mike Ramsey traveled across the country to be the special guest speaker from Zaca Mesa. Mike and Lane visited each table throughout the evening and answered guest’s questions and further educated them on the vintages offered. The crowds favorite wine were the Roussane and Syrah; guests even ordered entire cases of wine to enjoy at home! This was the first wine dinner our new Beverage Manager, Jana Williams has hosted. Following this success, we are planning a beer dinner with featured beers from around the world and complementing finger food on the restaurant patio this June.
